John 15:7 (KJV) 7If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

abide:

men'-o

A primary verb; to stay (in a given place, state, relation or expectancy):—abide, continue, dwell, endure, be present, remain, stand, tarry (for), X thine own.

Thayer Definition:

1) to remain, abide

1a) in reference to place

1a1) to sojourn, tarry

1a2) not to depart

As we dwell in Him and His word in us we pray His will not ours. So many pray their will and see it not come to pass. His words become our words. We become like Him. Not of ourselves. We find it better to pray for others needs. To love others as ourselves. When we pray our prayers are answered.

Mark 9:23 (KJV) 23Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

Prayer is the key. The strength of a man is in the hidden place of prayer. His prayer life is his strength.
